Mugello

The delicious Marrone of Mugello (a typical mugellan chestnutsl) obtained from the European Economic Community the PGI that is the Protected Geographical Indication. The “Marrone” of the Mugello IGP has a medium-large size, an ellipsoidal shape, a flat lateral face and the other convex. The base is generally flat and lighter in color than the rest of the fruit. The flesh is white, crisp and pleasantly sweet. In cultivation, pesticides and fertilizers are not used and for the preservation of the product chemical treatments and additives are not used: you can cure the fruits with a bath in cold water that can be preceded by one in hot water.

Trekking completely immersed in nature, observing the flora and fauna that populate the woods of the Apennines, admiring the landscape where the “Marrone” is cultivated and produced.

• Embraced by chestnut groves, mountain prairies and beech woods, we walk accompanied by the sound of the water of streams, waterfalls, water streams and the apparent silence of the forest where we perceive the movements of trees and the rustle of leaves. An immersion in an ever-changing environment that leads us to a typical Mountain House in which we will feel at home, between a glass of wine, a fire and a lunch all based on recipes of the past (the real ones!)in which chestnut flour reveals itself in all its culinary forms. In the company of stories that give identity to the place and to the people who live this piece of the mountain.
• -Distance: 10 Km. Ascent: 600 mt.
