In the Casentino’s Forest, unlike the Tuscan part where the landscape appears sweeter with woods, pastures, chestnut groves and cultivated fields, the Romagna side shows steep slopes covered by a thick wooded mantle, alternating with layers of bare rock, and abandoned farmland, on whose margins small churches, stone mills and ancient uninhabited villages emerge. Going up the wild valleys to meet the slopes of the Falco and Falterona mountains, there are some of the most beautiful sites of the Emiliano Romagnolo Apennines. These include the Acquacheta waterfalls, near the village of San Benedetto in Alpe; the forest of Campigna with the majestic Palazzo Granducale, hunting residence of the Lorena; the village of Ridracoli with its artificial dam; and finally the Integral Reserve of Sasso Fratino, with its centuries-old beech wood, a World Heritage Site.

Snowshoeing or snowshoeing (snowshoeing) is a slightly more tiring activity than a walk in the snow but it is very fascinating especially if you cross breathtaking views away from the clamor of the crowd and the stress of the ski lifts. To be appreciated when it has just snowed, the surrounding environment drips snow everywhere, and everything is soft and magical. Walking with rackets is very similar to cross-country skiing as the racket is fixed to the foot only in the front of the boot while the heels are free (we can also attach them to the heel if we have to engage in a rather steep area).

• Exclusive snowshoeing to enjoy the poetry of the sunset from the peaks of the National Park of the Casentino Forests. Through the prairies of ridge, surrounded by panoramas that are lost on the horizon between Tuscany and Romagna, we will walk slowly to know this corner of the Apennines and the biodiversity that characterizes it. Snowshoes and chopsticks are included.
• Period from December to March in the presence of snow.
• Valid for two persons, organized by “Cooperativa In Quiete”.
