Cosa include?

In the countryside surrounding the territory of Scarperia and San Piero meet the thousand-year-old churches of Santa Maria a Fagna and Sant’Agata, adjacent to the Collection of Sacred Art and the Archaeological Documentation Centre. In the ancient village you can follow a historical and cultural itinerary, admiring old mills, bridges and the delightful Museo Sant’Agata Artigiana e Contadina di Leprino, unique in its kind.

Museum of Sharp Irons, opened in 1999, documents the centuries-old activity of its cutlers. On the origin of this activity there is no precise information: we talk about an initial production of weapons necessary for the defense of the castle, a thesis that is well reconciled with the nature of a fortified garrison that Scarperia had since its foundation. Another possibility is that the production of irons was created to meet the need for agricultural work in the nearby countryside.

• Guided tour of the frescoed rooms of the “Palazzo dei Vicari” and the “Museum of Cutting Irons” located in Scarperia, one of the “The most beautiful villages in Italy, and then a toast accompanied by typical Tuscan products on the picturesque tower of the keep, located in the renovated battlements, on the walls of the fourteenth century building. It will be possible to admire the splendid panorama of Scarperia from above at sunset. Participants will then be given a bottle of local wine.
• Valid for two people at the “Palazzo dei Vicari” of Scarperia.
