The luster technique was known and used by Arab potters since the 9th century. It spread later in Spain, and from here in Sicily going back to Italy in Romagna, Marche and Umbria, but only towards the fifteenth century. The particular procedure was so secret that every potter only at the point of death transmitted it to his heirs. The technique is very complex, in fact the third fire is carried out after having covered the ceramic, already cooked and glazed, with oxides of silver and gold.

“Luca Canavicchio” realizes only unique handmade pieces, of which he personally performs every phase of the work, from the project to the finishing, working the terracotta, the majolica and the majolica with gildings and metallic luster to the third fire. The production is accompanied by certification of authenticity and uniqueness.
