Many of the great excellence of chocolate in the world are Italian, and for this reason we naturally associate this goodness to our country. Yet the origins of the history of chocolate must be sought far away, even at the time of the discovery of America, and have to do with a noble purpose. It seems that there are in fact the medical uses at the dawn of the diffusion of the Theobroma cacao (scientific name of the cocoa that means food of the gods – theos = god and bromine = nourishment) in Central America.

In Tuscany cocoa arrives for the first time in the seventeenth century, since then it can not do without! The passion for this delicious food has even given rise to a real “district”, an area known as “Chocolate Valley”. Pisa, Pistoia and Prato are the areas where the greatest artisans and master chocolates are concentrated, as well as the most prestigious shops and companies. From this “valley” excellent quality products are born, so much so that they have become an international reference point. Lovers of sweets and in particular of the “food of the gods” can rediscover and taste the authentic aromas and flavors of the past along this route of taste.
