The windmill is a structure built to exploit the energy of the wind (wind energy) and through the use of blades transform it into mechanical energy using it to grind cereals or other materials in agriculture, craft or industrial. It differs from the wind pump, which often has an external structure and mechanical principle similar to that of a windmill but has the function of handling water.

The “Fattoria Lavacchio” was the first to cultivate according to these principles among the winemakers of Chianti Rufina. He has always worked for biodiversity and sustainable development. These principles have even become his motto: “Organic Lifestyle”. In line with this approach, Faye is studying the precepts of biodynamic agriculture enunciated by Rudolf Steiner and is slowly beginning to apply the rules. In 2019, he began to collaborate with the agronomist and winemaker Adriano Zago with the aim of certifying the estate.
