Already at the beginning of the ‘500 Pierfrancesco de’Medici built, at the villa of Cafaggiolo in Barberino, a pottery factory with furnace and workshop active until 1599. Other furnaces existed around the villa, at the Trebbio Castle and perhaps in Montecarelli. They produced pottery with the characteristics of the Medici.

“Luca Canavicchio” enters the world of applied arts as a young man, working in the family workshop in Florence. After graduating in Pictorial Decoration and Restoration and graduating in History of Contemporary Art, in 2005 he began to learn the techniques of ceramics, until making it his main activity.
